Fausto Salvi

Italian artist Fausto Salvi,
Born in Brescia in 1965

+ Education

Italian artist Fausto Salvi, born in Brescia in 1965, discovers ceramics in the late ‘80s, attending the Institute of Ceramic Art in Faenza. He entrusts immediately his training to an intense practice and artIst-in-residencies in Europe, USA, Korea, India, Japan. During the years he worked and opened his studio in different countries, looking for new styles and ways to interpret ceramic art. Fausto Salvi works with majolica, often with large scale pieces or installation, looking to dialogue between old and contemporary styles. Trying to find some way to express social and political aspects of contemporary society, he researches and evolves, sometimes also through other mediums than ceramics. Travelling and making experience of different cultures is the engine of his work. In doing so he enriches his language, without weighting it down. Salvi exhibited with collective and solo shows in Europe, USA, Argentina, Japan, Korea and other countries. His works are included in private and public collections.
