Alessandra Baldereschi

Alessandra redesigns the everyday with her own personal stylistic code. The world that emerges from her pencil has the intangibility of dreams and memories; recalls an era of bliss with the soft edges of the world of fairy tales.

+ About

“Before studying industrial design at the Domus Academy in Milan, Alessandra Baldereschi studied art, and never recovered. “I think about projects as image,” she explained.

She loves embellishing a straightforward form, as she did with the Soufflé chair for CoinCasa a clear plastic cover stuffed with colorful cushions or with her collection of “four seasons” wood cabinets, shown here, for Skitsch. Baldereschi’s minimalist, white-lacquered design features ornate knobs far more than are functionally necessary on the doors.

Baldereschi loves the “hybridization” of plain and fancy. “I’m romantic,” she said.”

Elisabeth Károlyi, 2012 “Alessandra has once again revealed how she can use minimal shapes and accents to give functional pieces a poetic feel. Her youthful approach is nurtured by inspiration taken from nature, allowing for pieces that innovate furnishing types without tapping in to classic styles or expert woodworking practices. Alessandra has again successfully put her talents to the test, bringing whimsical accents to the world of home furnishings.”
